VVCDC is seeking participants for the Mayor's Department of Children Youth and Families Family Action Grant program.
Overview of Family Action Grant
The Family Action grant program is an important part of family involvement in community issues. Family Action assists parents and families by providing funding for a wide variety of parent-designed support programs. Projects can include social events, and community projects. Modeled after the First 5 Parent Action grants it is our goal to allow conveners to fund parent led programs that support the following:
- Community building
- Parent support and education
- Leadership development
- Family activities
The Community conveners will provide on going technical assistance to projects including leadership development and one on one assistance with the outcomes of each group project.
Who can apply?
Family / parent groups who are working with a participating agency involved in the DCYF Community Convener Project.
Target group
The family action grants target agencies involved in the community convener project who wish to sponsor family action.
